Nobody writes about the missing bank-job money. This little detail just stays out in the open without much discussion. Truthfully, it would never happen that way. This is a hole in the Plot big enough to drive a SWAT Team vehicle through.
Right after the bullets stopped flying; procedure would be for every officer to secure every bit of evidence. Somebody had to have been in charge of looking-after the loot until a Command decision got made where to move it. If I were the Commander; it would have been brought back in the Bank.
Somebody give me an idea how 18-million bucks goes poof and there isn't a 24-7-365 ongoing investigation that would have included the FBI at the first whiff of LAPD involvement.
Who is on it? What have they got? Why aren't they doing something about it? A whole Police Department is suspect of having something to do with the money being gone. Can I please meet the Lead Investigator on the Case?
I want to build a fire under him. Or, fire him and get some new eyes on the crime. Years have gone by! Jim Rockford would have had all the money back inside of 90 minutes!

Yep.
And I think that this is part of the whole Conspiracy thing...who was big enough to make this all essentially go away?
It'll be interesting to see what goes on with William Atherton's character. He's basically told Crews he's got six months and that he has stuff he wants to do while he still can. And it didn't sound like flighty stuff, either, now did it?
Of course, I'm a long time William Atherton fan. I'm tickled stupid to see him acting in something I already enjoy.
